Grand Mosque of Makkah Enhances Health Services for Ramadan

Makkah: The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has activated comprehensive health and emergency services to serve Umrah performers and visitors during Ramadan. This plan, in collaboration with the Makkah Health Cluster and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, aims to ensure the health and safety of visitors throughout the holy month.

According to Saudi Press Agency, seven emergency centers are strategically located within the Grand Mosque, complemented by mobile emergency teams to provide rapid intervention in crowded areas. These teams offer immediate medical response to worshippers and pilgrims, maintaining 24/7 healthcare.

Ambulance centers are positioned in key locations, including the basement of the King Fahd expansion (Itikaf area), which facilitates quick response in the circumambulation area and Saudi corridor; the roof of the King Fahd expansion, which provides immediate care for emergencies on the roof; and gate 175, which serves as a dispatch point for ambulance units in the Third Saudi Expansion.

These teams are equipped with comprehensive first aid kits and mobile medical devices, addressing cases of fainting, fatigue, injuries, and other emergencies. Patients requiring further care are transferred to health centers or hospitals. A dedicated team manages field operations and control around the clock, with response coordinators ensuring efficient handling of all emergencies.
