During an inspection tour of Kom Abu Radi workshops, in Beni Suef Governorate to follow up on a project to revamp 925 train carriages, the minister highlighted the importance of working round the clock to finalize all rejuvenation, repairing and maintenance operations within the set timeframe.
The rehabilitation plan comes as part of the political leadership’s directives to ramp out the entire railway system, including passenger train cars, said the minister.
The plan targets the renovation of 1,223 train carriages by the end of 2021, in addition to importing and manufacturing 1,300 new carriages, he added.
