The voting process started on time on the first day of the second round of parliamentary elections, which are conducted in 9,468 balloting stations in 13 governorates, the National Election Authority (NEA) said Saturday.
The stations opened at 9.00 a.m. and will close at 9:00 p.m. by judges overseeing the vote, said NEA chairman Lashin Ibrahim.
The NEA set up an operations room to follow up the voting process and respond to inquiries of citizens, Lashin noted.
He called on voters to abide by precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
