Global South Modernization Forum Honors Faisal bin Muammar with Prestigious Award

Beijing: The Global South Modernization Forum in China has honored King Abdulaziz Public Library General Supervisor Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muammar with the Research and Application in Global Development Award. The accolade was presented during the forum's global conference in Beijing, which was sponsored by the State Council Information Office of China, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Peking University.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the award ceremony took place yesterday at the forum, recognized as one of the foremost Chinese and international platforms dedicated to examining and discussing the pathways of modernization and development in developing countries. The event drew participation from international institutions and researchers worldwide.

The Research and Application in Global Development Award is a prestigious global prize that acknowledges institutions and pioneers for their significant scientific and applied contributions in modern development, modernization, and international cooperation among developing nations. It also shines a light on projects that propose innovative and sustainable solutions to development challenges, including poverty reduction, environmental protection, infrastructure development, institutional capacity building, and cultural heritage preservation.

Faisal bin Muammar was selected for this honor in recognition of his extensive career in global development and his efforts to foster a Saudi-Chinese cultural partnership. His work in the fields of culture, education, national dialogue, and interfaith and intercultural dialogue was also a significant factor in his selection for this distinguished award.
