Riyadh: The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) condemned the statements issued by the US ambassador to Israel regarding what he described as "Israel's right to expand," noting that they contradict established principles governing relations between states and amount to a justification for policies that impose a fait accompli at the expense of the legitimate rights of the Arab people.
According to Saudi Press Agency, GCTP President Ahmed Al-Jarwan emphasized that such remarks provide political cover for expansionist and settlement practices, pose a threat to regional and international security and stability, and undermine prospects for a just and comprehensive peace based on respect for state sovereignty and the rights of peoples.
The GCTP called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take clear positions against any policies or statements that encourage expansion or undermine the international legal order. It reiterated that rejecting expansionist policies and the imposition of a fait accompli, while safeguarding the rights of peoples, constitutes the fundamental foundation of any sustainable peace based on justice, coexistence, and stability.
