Qassim: The General Food Security Authority (GFSA): has completed procedures for awarding the third batch of imported wheat for 2026, totaling 985,000 tons, to be sourced from the European Union, North and South America, Australia, and the Black Sea region. According to Saudi Press Agency, GFSA President Eng. Ahmad Al-Fares stated that contracting for this batch is part of an effort to enhance and maintain the strategic wheat stockpile at safe levels and meet the needs of all flour milling companies. He added that branches of the National Grain Supply Company (SABIL) are set to receive the contracted quantities of the third batch. Deliveries are scheduled between June and August 2026 aboard 16 vessels. This includes six vessels to Jeddah Islamic Port carrying 370,000 tons, eight vessels to Yanbu Commercial Port carrying 505,000 tons, and two vessels to Jazan Port carrying 110,000 tons. Thirteen qualified international companies specializing in grain trading competed for the required quantity, with the con tract awarded to four companies that submitted the lowest-priced bids meeting the specifications.
