U.S. ASKS EGYPT AIRLINES TO LIMIT TRAVELLERS’ ONBOARD ELECTRONIC DEVICES

CAIRO, Egypt March 22 (NNN-Xinhua) — The U.S. transport authorities on Tuesday instructed Egyptian airlines to limit specific electronic devices onboard flights heading to the United States, said the EgyptAir national airline carrier in a statement.

According to the statement, the U.S. transport authorities’ instructions require that travellers keep calculators, laptops, tablets, cameras, E-readers, portable DVD players, electronic game units, printers, scanners and similar devices in the hold beneath the plane and never carry them onboard.

“EgyptAir will implement this decision as of March 24 on all flights heading to the United States,” said EgyptAir’s statement.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration imposed for security reasons on Tuesday restrictions on carrying electronic devices on planes originating from 10 airports of Muslim-majority, Middle Eastern and North African states to the United States.
