Sisi: Comprehensive human rights cover all sides

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reiterated on Wednesday Egypt’s support for the concept of comprehensive human rights, which includes all economic, social, health and educational rights, and is not confined to the political side.

The president made the remarks during a meeting with heads of African delegations taking part in the 12th conference of the Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI), presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Egypt attaches special importance to rendering the conference’s activities a success in light of Cairo’s keenness on supporting the file of human rights in Africa, Sisi said.

Egypt’s presidency of the NANHRI comes as part of a plan to establish a bridge of communication with regional and international mechanisms concerned with human rights, he added.

The president also stressed the importance of promoting continental integration to meet hopes and aspirations of the African peoples.

The heads of African delegations, meanwhile, said Egypt’s chairmanship of the NANHRI would give a push to the network’s efforts in the field of human rights.
