MEA: NEW PROCEDURES FOR ARRIVING PASSENGERS TO LEBANON

Middle East Airlines – Air Liban announces that starting 23 September 2020 the following procedures will be applied to all passengers arriving to Lebanon:

First: All passengers arriving in Lebanon:
All passengers arriving in Lebanon as a final destination on Middle East Airlines.
Conduct a PCR test at one of the accredited laboratories by the relevant authorities in the countries from which they are departing within a maximum of 96 hours prior to the date of travel to Lebanon and show the PCR Test result at check-in counters. Passengers who do not carry a negative PCR Test result are not allowed to board MEA aircraft departing to Lebanon.
All passengers wishing to return to Lebanon on Board Middle East Airlines, before boarding must fill out the form issued by the Ministry of Public Health of Lebanon and available electronically through the following link:https://arcg.is/0GaDnG .

Second: All passengers arriving in Lebanon from Egypt, Turkey and all African countries:
All passengers arriving in Lebanon from Egypt, Turkey and all African countries must perform a second PCR Test upon arrival at Rafik Hariri International Airport – Beirut and commit to the home quarantine for 48 hours from the date of arrival in Lebanon and until informed of the PCR Test result performed upon arrival at the airport, knowing that the amount of $50 per passenger has been deducted from the ticket price; cost of performing the required PCR Test upon arrival at the airport.

Third: All passengers arriving in Lebanon from Iraq:
– All passengers arriving in Lebanon from Iraq, except Lebanese and foreigners residing in Lebanon, must conduct a PCR check upon arrival at Rafik Hariri International Airport – Beirut at their own expense. $50 per passenger will be added to the ticket price for doing the required PCR Test upon arrival at the airport.
– All passengers arriving from Iraq, except Lebanese and foreigners residing in Lebanon, must have a 72-hour prepaid hotel reservation at one of the following hotels approved by the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism at reduced prices: Kanaan Blu Martinez Hotel – Hotel Tulip Golden Hotels -Lancaster Hotels -Group Hotel and for further enquiry this information can be used:

Passengers who do not have a hotel reservation are not allowed to board MEA aircraft coming to Lebanon. Upon arrival in Lebanon they must stay the hotel for 72 hours during which a second PCR must be conducted, and if the PCR result came positive, they will have to bear the cost of treatment within Lebanese territory at their own expense.

– Lebanese and foreign passengers residing in Lebanon from Iraq must adhere to the quarantine for 72 hours from the date of arrival in Lebanon, during which another PCR examination will be conducted at their own expenses.
Fourth: All passengers arriving in Lebanon from all other destinations:
All passengers arriving in Lebanon from tall other destinations must choose between: re-performing another PCR examination within a maximum of 72 hours from the date of arrival in Lebanon, at their own expense OR committing to home or hotel quarantine for 10 days from the date of arrival in Lebanon.

Fifth: All passengers who left Lebanon and returning within one week:
Passengers who have left and returned to Lebanon within one week, are not required to perform PCR Test at their point of departure but must:
Passengers from Iraq, Egypt, Turkey and all African countries: Perform PCR Test upon arrival at the airport.
Passengers from the other destinations: Can choose between either perform PCR Test upon arrival at the airport Or within a maximum of 72 hours from the date of arrival at Rafik Hariri International Airport at their own expenses.

Exceptions: PCR Test excludes children under the age of 12, UNIFIL and members of accredited diplomatic missions in Lebanon.
