JORDAN:INTERIOR MINISTER, ICRC HEAD DISCUSS SYRIAN REFUGEES

AMMAN, Nov. 4 (NNN-Petra) — Interior Minister Salamah Hammad on Tuesday discussed with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) head Frederic Fournier the organisation’s activities in Jordan and the impact of the Syrian crisis on Jordan.

They talked about the needs of Syrian refugees as winter sets in.

Hammad said his ministry and security agencies are working around the clock to ensure homeland security and that the lawlessness in the Syrian would not spill over to Jordan. He urged the international community to support the Kingdom that bears significant burdens as a result of the Syrian conflict.

Fournier thanked Jordan for absorbing the influx of Syrian refugees, and called on donors to assume their responsibility towards the Kingdom as it carries on with its humanitarian role.
