AMMAN, Jordan, Nov 17 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan King Abdullah II praised as “images of national heroism” efforts by Jordanian youth, during the massive rainstorm that struck the Kingdom in the past weeks.

Welcoming three young men at the Al Husseiniyeh Palace, King Abdullah said, he is proud of such group of youth, who had displayed bright images of courage, in rescuing families and individuals overwhelmed by flood waters triggered by the heavy downpours.

Your courage is an inspiration and a source of pride for all Jordanians, and a clear evidence and model of good citizenship, love and belonging to your country, he told the men.

You offer a model of courage and fortitude, as a tenet of our youth. I thank you and all those who had put their lives in harm’s way, to rescue and protect brothers and sisters of theirs, he said.

He noted that those young men had backed up state authorities in the field, to provide safety and reassurance to Jordanians and the country’s guests.

The King told the government to take speedy measures, to provide aid to low-income families stricken by natural disasters.– NNN-PETRA
