FM takes part in 2nd day of AU Executive Council’s meetings

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Friday 08/02/2019 took part in the second day’s meetings of the 34th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) held in Addis Ababa.

In a statement, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez said Shoukry participated in several sessions to discuss a number of reports on the activities of the African Union to be adopted by African leaders in their summit, slated for February 10 and 11.

The meetings reviewed a report prepared by the AU Commission on the high-level panel on candidates for hosting the African Space Agency, he added.

Other reports issued by specialized and subcommittees of the AU Executive Council were also discussed, Hafez said.

Five new members were elected to the African Peace and Security Council, he added.
