Riyadh: The General Authority for Competition (GAC) recently concluded its Competition Innovation Program with a closing ceremony held at Misk Nonprofit City. The event was attended by GAC Chairman Dr. Ahmed Alkhulaifi, Saudi Data and AI Authority President Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi, General Authority of Civil Aviation President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, GAC CEO Dr. Fahad Alshathri, along with various executive leaders and partners.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program aimed to foster a culture of institutional innovation, empowering GAC employees and partners to create solutions that enhance market efficiency and support the Saudi business environment, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives. The program's journey included motivational workshops, collaborative challenges with partners from different sectors, and the pioneering Competition Hackathon, which saw global participation and yielded practical solutions for the competition sector.

During the ceremony, GAC introduced two new services. 'Competition Eye' is a digital platform for reporting anti-competitive practices, enhancing transparency and market protection. The 'Competition Compliance Program' seeks to educate establishments on competition policies and bolster regulatory compliance, promoting a fair and sustainable business environment.

In his address, Dr. Fahad Alshathri highlighted the program as a testament to GAC's dedication to fostering an innovative climate and empowering national talents to influence competition policies and digital tool development. He reaffirmed the authority's commitment to investing in innovation-led initiatives for excellence and sustainable economic growth.
