GEA Records Over 12 Million Visitors and Significant Regulatory Achievements in Q3 2025

Riyadh: The entertainment sector in the Kingdom experienced a surge in activity and an expansion in events and licenses during the third quarter of 2025, with 12.6 million visitors and continued growth across various regulatory and supervisory indicators.

According to Saudi Press Agency, some 468 entertainment events were held in 116 cities across the Kingdom, showcasing the extensive reach of activities across different regions. The number of companies operating in the sector increased to 6,499, highlighting growing investment opportunities and ongoing development within the Kingdom's entertainment industry.

On the regulatory front, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) issued 1,839 licenses in the third quarter, marking a 48.9% increase compared to the same period last year. These licenses encompassed a variety of entertainment activities, such as live performances, entertainment centers, and artistic talents. Additionally, over 24,200 inspection visits were conducted, reflecting an approximate 4% rise and emphasizing the authority's commitment to ensuring compliance with approved regulations and standards.

The report noted a compliance rate of 93% for licensed entertainment activities, indicating enhanced levels and quality of entertainment experiences and improved efficiency in supervision and monitoring.

The sector also saw a notable improvement in service quality, with the visitor satisfaction index climbing five percentage points to 94%. To guarantee access to high-quality and professional entertainment activities, the GEA assessed more than 203 entertainment events, 672 entertainment centers, and 13 theme parks as part of its classification programs for activities and investors.

The authority maintains that its regulatory efforts bolster the quality of entertainment activities, enabling investors to create unique and safe experiences. This aligns with societal aspirations and supports the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objective of establishing a thriving, sustainable entertainment sector.
