GCC Secretary-General Welcomes Formation of New Lebanese Government

Riyadh: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi welcomed the formation of the new Lebanese government, expressing hope that the move would contribute to Lebanon's stability and development and fulfill the aspirations of its people for a more prosperous and secure future.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi stated that the formation of the government reflects the determination of Lebanese leadership and political forces to overcome challenges and strengthen stability and security in Lebanon. He underscored the importance of continued national and international efforts to support Lebanon during this critical phase in order to restore its economy, development, and security.

Albudaiwi reiterated the council's firm position in support of Lebanon and its people, affirming the GCC member states' commitment to assisting Lebanon in achieving security, stability, and prosperity.

He also wished the new Lebanese government success in carrying out its duties, serving the interests of Lebanon and its people, and strengthening its longstanding relations with the GCC countries.
