Al-baha: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strongly condemned the heinous Iranian attack on the Port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates in a statement on Tuesday. Secretary General Jasem Albudaiwi emphasized that this aggressive act constitutes a blatant violation of the sovereignty of a GCC member state and a serious escalation threatening regional security and stability.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi underscored that targeting critical infrastructure and vital installations is completely unacceptable and condemnable, reflecting an escalatory approach that disregards international law and the principles of good neighborliness. Such actions aim to undermine the security of GCC states, destabilize global energy markets, and pose a direct threat to the security of regional and international supply chains, the safety of maritime navigation, and international trade.
The secretary general called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in halting repeated Iranian aggressions and taking immediate action to stop irresponsible acts that undermine regional and international peace and security.
He also reaffirmed the GCC's full and firm solidarity with the UAE, standing united with the country in all measures it takes to protect its security, safeguard its sovereignty, and ensure the safety of its vital facilities.
