Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi participated in the official opening of the 26th session of the UN Tourism General Assembly, held today under the theme "AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future" in Riyadh. The event saw the participation of several ministers, senior officials, and specialists from various countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Jasem Albudaiwi emphasized the significance of Saudi Arabia hosting the assembly, highlighting its initiatives aimed at enhancing joint international action and fostering a more prosperous and sustainable tourism ecosystem. Albudaiwi praised the session's events and activities, which facilitate the exchange of experiences in the tourism sector.
Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC countries' commitment to the tourism industry, recognizing its importance for economic growth and income diversification. He emphasized the region's focus on developing advanced infrastructure and improving service quality to adapt to rapid changes in the sector, thereby strengthening their status as key global tourist destinations.
