GCC Secretary-General Receives UN Secretary-General’s Envoy for Sudan

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi received Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Sudan Pekka Haavisto today in Riyadh. Several key topics were addressed, most notably the latest developments in Sudan. The two sides emphasized the importance of exerting all regional and international efforts to support a comprehensive political solution in Sudan and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Sudanese people.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions between Albudaiwi and Haavisto underscored the need for cooperation among international stakeholders to foster stability in Sudan. The engagement highlighted a shared commitment to addressing the ongoing challenges in the region and working towards sustainable peace.

The meeting also focused on exploring ways to enhance humanitarian assistance to Sudan. Both parties agreed on the necessity of coordinated actions to improve the living conditions of the Sudanese population. The dialogue aimed at reinforcing regional collaboration to address the crisis effectively.
