Riyadh: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi today received UK Minister of State for Trade at the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade Anas Sarwar. During the meeting, the two sides discussed several issues of mutual interest, including the strategic partnership between the GCC and the UK and ways to further develop and strengthen it in support of their common interests. They also reviewed the latest developments in negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between the GCC and the UK.
According to Saudi Press Agency, both sides stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to overcome obstacles to finalizing the agreement, which would advance mutual interests and support their shared vision for sustainable and promising economic growth. They also noted that the agreement would mark a new and solid phase in GCC-UK economic relations.
