Davos: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met today with World Economic Forum (WEF) Director for the Middle East and North Africa Maroun Kairouz on the sidelines of the 56th WEF Annual Meeting 2026, held in Davos, Switzerland. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the GCC and the WEF, and reviewed economic and development issues of mutual interest. They also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi stressed the GCC’s keenness to strengthen its active presence in international economic forums and contribute to shaping joint solutions to global economic challenges. He commended the WEF’s role in fostering regional and international dialogue and cooperation, and expressed hope for sustainable, substantive partnerships between the two sides.
