Brussels: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Albudaiwi, convened with ambassadors representing GCC states accredited to Belgium and the European Union during his official visit to the EU. The meeting took place in Brussels, where discussions focused on regional developments and cooperative efforts among GCC states.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi briefed the ambassadors on the ongoing regional crisis and the joint efforts by GCC states to counter Iranian aggression targeting their territories. He highlighted the GCC's model of coordination, which has played a crucial role in mitigating risks and limiting their impact on the region.
Albudaiwi also shared the objectives of his visit to the EU, which includes a scheduled briefing to the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and discussions with EU officials aimed at strengthening Gulf-European relations.
In addition to providing updates, Albudaiwi engaged with the ambassadors to hear their perspectives on GCC-EU relations. He expressed gratitude for their cooperation and ongoing coordination, emphasizing the importance of these diplomatic engagements.
