Tokyo: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Iwaya Takeshi received here today Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi. They discussed strengthening cooperation and reviewed the latest developments regarding the free trade agreement between the two sides. Albudaiwi extended an official invitation to Takeshi to participate in the second joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue with Japan, scheduled for September 1, 2025, as part of efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two sides.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi underscored the importance of the strategic partnership between the GCC countries and Japan, praising the continuous development and fruitful cooperation in various fields, particularly in economy, energy, and technology. He also expressed appreciation for Japan's support of a solution to the Palestinian issue, grounded in decisions of international legitimacy. This commitment, he said, contributes to regional security and stability and underscores Japan's dedication to advocating for just causes on the global stage.
