GCC Secretary-General Engages in Strategic Talks with Japanese Ambassador

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi received Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Yasunari Morino at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh today. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring avenues for mutual cooperation.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions covered several topics of shared interest and reviewed the existing relations between the GCC and Japan. Both parties deliberated on strategies to develop and enhance these relations to serve mutual interests effectively. They also discussed the preparations for the GCC Secretary-General's upcoming visit to Japan, highlighting a review of the latest developments in the free trade agreement negotiations between the two sides.

Furthermore, the meeting included a follow-up on the joint action plan for the period 2024-2028, which is designed to bolster the strategic partnership between the GCC countries and Japan. The discussions also encompassed the latest updates at both regional and international levels, with an exchange of views regarding these developments.
