GCC Secretary General Engages in Dialogue with Argentine Foreign Minister

Riyadh: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi welcomed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, and Worship of the Argentine Republic, Gerardo Werthein, in Riyadh. The meeting focused on enhancing the relationship between the GCC and Argentina, aiming to serve shared objectives.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions included plans to sign a memorandum of understanding for a consultation mechanism and to create an action plan covering multiple sectors. The dialogue highlighted the importance of collaboration between the GCC states and the Mercosur group, led by Argentina, with an emphasis on rekindling negotiations for a free trade agreement.

The officials also shared perspectives on regional and global issues, notably the situations in Gaza and Syria. Both parties stressed the significance of supporting initiatives that promote stability and security in these areas.
