GCC Secretary-General Condemns Israeli Attacks on Syrian Territories

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the incursions carried out by the Israeli occupation forces into Syrian territories, specifically targeting the Quneitra and Daraa governorates with artillery shells. These actions are seen as a violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic, international law, and the United Nations Charter.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the GCC secretary-general stated that the continuous attacks by the Israeli occupation forces represent a dangerous escalation, potentially heightening tensions and instability in the region. These actions undermine regional and international efforts aimed at achieving peace.

Albudaiwi emphasized the importance of respecting the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic and adhering to international law and international humanitarian law. Such adherence is essential for contributing to the protection of security and peace in the region.

He reiterated the GCC's solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic, emphasizing the need to maintain its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Albudaiwi firmly rejected any violations that compromise Syria's sovereignty or threaten its security.
