GCC Secretary General condemns attack on Saudi cultural attaché office in Sudan

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi, condemned on Wednesday the storming of the Saudi Cultural Attaché building in Khartoum, Sudan.

In a statement, Al-Budaiwi affirmed that all GCC countries stand by condemning this terrorist act, praising Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian and diplomatic role in Sudan.

He also stressed the need to respect international agreements and diplomatic norms that guarantee safety of diplomatic mission’s headquarters, calling on all parties in Sudan to take the necessary measures to protect diplomats and diplomatic headquarters.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an armed group stormed the Saudi Cultural Attaché building in Sudan on Tuesday morning and vandalized equipment, cameras, seized some of the attache’s property, and disabled its systems
