GCC Secretary-General Commends Rwanda-Congo Peace Agreement

Riyadh: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi welcomed the signing of the peace agreement between the Republic of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, praising the efforts made by the United States of America and the State of Qatar. He expressed hope that this agreement will contribute to ending tensions, fulfilling the aspirations of the peoples of both countries for security and stability, supporting the paths of prosperity and development in their region, and enhancing opportunities for regional and international peace and security.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi also noted the positive and growing role of the GCC countries in supporting peaceful solutions and promoting security and stability in various regions of the world. He stressed the firm commitment of the council states to the diplomatic approach and dialogue as essential tools for addressing international and regional crises and achieving sustainable development.
