GCC Secretary-General Commends Oman for Hosting US-Iran Discussions

Muscat: The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Mohammed Albudaiwi, has expressed approval for the Sultanate of Oman's role in facilitating talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Budaiwi highlighted that Oman's involvement in hosting these discussions demonstrates its commitment to fostering dialogue and promoting mutual understanding among nations. He recognized Oman's ongoing efforts to support and reinforce security and stability in the region.

Al-Budaiwi further noted that GCC member states are committed to seeking peaceful resolutions to conflicts by leveraging their strong international relations. These states aim to propose initiatives that benefit regional and global populations and work tirelessly to enhance peace and security on both regional and international levels.

The GCC Secretary-General conveyed his hopes for the talks to yield positive outcomes that would expand cooperation opportunities between Iran and the United States, ultimately contributing to peace and stability in the region.
