GCC Secretary-General Announces Emergency GCC-EU Meeting to Address Iranian Aggression

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi announced that an Emergency GCC-EU Ministerial Meeting will take place tomorrow, Thursday, March 5, 2026. The meeting will bring together foreign ministers from GCC states and European Union (EU) member countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas will also join the meeting via video conference. Albudaiwi highlighted that the meeting aims to discuss the implications of Iranian aggression against GCC states, the developments in the region, and their global impact. He stressed the GCC's intent to use these meetings to condemn Iranian attacks on civilians and infrastructure in council states. Albudaiwi further stated that the council seeks to urge the international community to intervene and halt the conflict, promoting regional and international security.
