New york: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi met yesterday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Portugal Paulo Rangel on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting focused on strengthening GCC-Portugal ties and exploring ways to develop them to serve common interests. The two officials agreed to schedule a new date soon for the signing of a previously agreed-upon memorandum of understanding.
According to Saudi Press Agency, regarding broader Gulf-European relations, the GCC secretary-general expressed his anticipation for the joint ministerial meeting set to be held in the State of Kuwait on October 6. He noted that this meeting follows the first Gulf-European summit held in Brussels in October 2024, stressing the importance of translating the summit's outcomes into concrete results.
