Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi today received Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan and Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Moqbel.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi welcomed the minister of education and commended the Kingdom's significant efforts and valuable contributions to joint GCC educational endeavors.
The GCC secretary-general also congratulated Dr. Al-Moqbel on his appointment as Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, wishing him success in his new role.
During the meeting, several topics related to joint Gulf educational work were discussed, including the future plan for cooperation in the field of education in the GCC countries (2022-2026), and the strategic plan for cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research (2022-2026).
Albudaiwi affirmed the high priority given to the education and higher education sector by GCC leaders. He noted that, due to these directives and the dedication of education stakeholders, GCC countries have become leaders in international and regional education and higher education indicators.
Furthermore, discussions covered the latest developments in reformulating the strategy of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States and evaluating its affiliated offices, aiming to strengthen and develop joint Gulf education in line with current and future trends in the field.
