Sochi: The 8th Joint Ministerial Meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Russian Federation, held in Sochi today, strongly condemned in its joint statement the attack carried out by the Israeli occupation forces against the State of Qatar on September 9, 2025. The attack targeted residential facilities housing several members of the political bureau of Hamas in Doha during negotiations. It resulted in the martyrdom of a number of personnel from the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and several members of the movement, while endangering the lives of civilians in Qatar, constituting a grave violation of international humanitarian law. According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting affirmed that this attack represents a flagrant violation of international laws and norms, an assault on the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, and a deliberate undermining of diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region. The meeting stressed that such actions require a clear and firm international position-one that holds the international community morally, politically, and legally accountable, and leads to effective measures to deter Israel and end its repeated violations of the principles of international peace and security. The ministers called upon the international community and the Security Council to assume their responsibilities in stopping these attacks and preventing their recurrence, affirming that the continuation of this approach will escalate tensions in the region, undermine opportunities for achieving security and stability, and that the absence of a serious and decisive international stance will have grave repercussions on regional and international peace and security.
