GCC Rheumatology Conference 2026 Concludes with Focus on Sub-Specialization

Riyadh: The GCC Rheumatology Conference 2026 concluded today after a successful run from February 4 to 7, organized by the Saudi Society for Rheumatology. The event brought together prominent local and international experts and health leaders to discuss the latest developments in diagnosing and treating rheumatic diseases.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference stood out by hosting two distinct scientific conferences, one focusing on adult rheumatology and the other on pediatric rheumatology. This approach aimed to support sub-specialization and enhance healthcare services for different age groups, in collaboration with the Pediatric Rheumatology Arab Group.

The conference addressed various scientific themes intended to improve healthcare services within the Kingdom. Key topics included recent therapeutic advances in rheumatoid arthritis and spinal inflammations, diagnostic challenges in vasculitis, and treatments for neuropsychiatric lupus and lupus nephritis.

Dr. Hanan Al-Rayes, Conference Chairperson and President of the Saudi Society for Rheumatology, emphasized the event's objective to highlight challenges and scientific progress in rheumatic disease treatment. The conference aimed to promote evidence-based healthcare, thereby improving service quality in the Kingdom.

Dr. Al-Rayes also mentioned the society's goal to strengthen diagnostic and therapeutic capacities, aligning them with global best practices. This effort contributes to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, reinforcing the Kingdom's standing as a leading healthcare model both regionally and internationally.
