Riyadh: The GCC Interconnection Authority has announced its official membership in the Utilities for Net Zero Alliance (UNEZA), marking a key milestone in its commitment to environmental sustainability and advancing the regional energy transition. This strategic move highlights the authority's dedication to fostering a more sustainable energy landscape in the Gulf region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this membership paves the way for the authority to collaborate with global energy sector leaders, share best practices, and adopt effective solutions to improve the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of energy systems. By joining UNEZA, the GCC Interconnection Authority aims to leverage collective expertise and resources to address pressing energy challenges while aligning with global sustainability goals.

UNEZA comprises over 50 member entities with a combined market value nearing $1 trillion, serving more than 340 million consumers worldwide. The alliance focuses on key priorities such as mitigating supply chain risks, supporting regulatory frameworks and policies, and mobilizing funding to modernize electrical infrastructure. The collaboration within UNEZA is expected to drive significant advancements in energy systems, benefiting consumers and stakeholders across the globe.
