Riyadh: The National Cybersecurity Authority announced the launch of the fourth annual GCC Cyber Security Exercise in Riyadh on Tuesday, drawing participation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the GCC General Secretariat.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the exercise involves cybersecurity specialists from the GCC countries, aiming to bolster cybersecurity readiness, ensure preparedness for evolving cyber threats, and build specialized capabilities within the member states. The event also facilitates knowledge exchange among participants, contributing to strengthening cooperation on cybersecurity issues and supporting joint action to protect Gulf cyberspace.
The initiative is part of a comprehensive strategic approach to enhance collaboration among GCC countries in the cybersecurity sector, which plays a crucial role in fostering development and prosperity. It builds on previous achievements in the field, including the adoption of the Gulf Cybersecurity Strategy. Additionally, it follows the launch of a platform for sharing cyber threat information among the council states during the third meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Cybersecurity, held in Doha in November.
