Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi condemned in the strongest terms the treacherous Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, including strikes on infrastructure and vital installations that resulted in injuries among Kuwaiti armed forces personnel.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi pointed out that Iran's actions represent an unprecedented escalation and reflect a clear insistence on violating all international rules and norms, demonstrating an unacceptable disregard for the consequences of dragging the region into further tension and instability.
He noted that targeting infrastructure and vital installations does not threaten the targeted countries alone, but directly impacts the security of the entire region. He called on the international community to take practical and deterrent steps to ensure the cessation of repeated Iranian attacks and hold those responsible accountable, thereby protecting regional peace and security and preventing the region from sliding into further escalation.
The secretary-general stressed that the GCC stands firmly with Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, supporting all measures they take to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured Kuwaiti armed forces personnel.
