Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Anatolii Petrenko, to discuss enhancing cooperation and addressing regional concerns. The meeting took place in Riyadh, where both representatives explored the potential to strengthen ties under the Joint Action Plan set for 2025-2030.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions focused on areas of mutual interest between the GCC and Ukraine. Both parties exchanged views on regional and international matters, aiming to fortify their cooperation in alignment with the Joint Action Plan. The plan outlines collaborative goals and serves as a roadmap for future engagements between the GCC and Ukraine.
During the meeting, the GCC secretary-general reiterated the council's stance on the ongoing Ukrainian-Russian crisis. Albudaiwi emphasized the importance of adhering to international law, highlighting the GCC's commitment to the United Nations Charter. The principles discussed included upholding sovereignty, maintaining territorial integrity, and ensuring political independence, while advocating for non-interference in internal affairs and rejecting the use of force or threats in resolving conflicts.
