GCC and India Explore Trade Cooperation Amid Global Economic Challenges

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi held a virtual meeting with the Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India, Piyush Goyal. The discussion centered around enhancing trade exchange in response to global economic challenges, aiming to serve the mutual interests of both regions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, India's commerce minister expressed the country's readiness to support various economic and trade sectors in the GCC states. This move is expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the GCC and India. The Indian initiative was met with appreciation by the GCC secretary-general, who acknowledged India's commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and supply chains.

Jasem Albudaiwi highlighted the significant role of Indian expertise within the GCC states, emphasizing the long-standing Gulf-Indian relations. He praised the GCC states' effective supply chain management policies, which have allowed them to navigate the impacts of the current economic crisis successfully.

These policies have ensured the continuous flow of goods and services, reinforcing the resilience of the GCC states' economies.
