GCA President Chairs INTOSAI Policy Committee Meeting in Washington

Washington: President of the General Court of Audit (GCA) and Chair of the Policy, Finance, and Administration Committee (PFAC) of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Alangari chaired the 22nd meeting of the committee on Monday, held in Washington, D.C.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting was attended by the committee's Vice-Chair and Auditor General and Director of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) of the United States Gene Dodaro, as well as members representing the supreme audit institutions (SAIs) of Brazil, Egypt, Austria, South Africa, India, Sweden, and Norway. The meeting came within the Kingdom's active and leading role, represented by the GCA, in the global community of SAIs.

In his opening remarks, Alangari emphasized the committee's commitment to providing steadfast support to the INTOSAI community in achieving its goals and to continuing joint efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in SAIs.

The meeting reviewed and discussed several items on its agenda, most notably the general secretariat's report on INTOSAI's financial position and budget for the 2026-2028 period, as well as the main report submitted by the GCA highlighting the committee's key achievements and activities. Reports were also presented by the Chairs of INTOSAI's Strategic Goals, in addition to updates from the Professional Standards Committee (PSC), the Capacity Building Committee (CBC), the Knowledge Sharing Committee (KSC), the Supervisory Committee on Emerging Issues, and the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI). The meeting approved INTOSAI's Performance and Accountability Report for the 2023-2025 period.

In addition to chairing PFAC, GCA also serves as the Second-Vice Chairman of INTOSAI and Co-chair of the INTOSAI-Donor Steering Committee (IDSC) for the INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation, in partnership with the World Bank.
