GASTAT: Unemployment Rate for Total Population in Saudi Arabia Drops to 3.5% in Q4 2024

Riyadh: The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) released the Labor Market Statistics today for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the unemployment rate for the total population of Saudi Arabia, which includes both Saudis and non-Saudis aged 15 and above, declined to 3.5%. In addition, the unemployment rate for Saudi nationals, encompassing both males and females aged 15 and above, dropped to 7% in Q4 2024, compared to 7.8% in the same period of 2023.

The unemployment rate for the total male population was recorded at 2%, while the rate for females stood at 10.4%. The labor force participation rate for Saudi women saw an increase, reaching 36% compared to the same period in 2023.

The statistics also highlighted that the unemployment rate for Saudi males was 4.3%, while the rate for Saudi females decreased to 11.9% in Q4 2024, down from 13.6% in the previous quarter of the same year.
