Riyadh: The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) organized a dialogue session titled 'International Statistical Standards and the Role of GCC Statistical Offices in Development and Implementation' as part of the Road to Riyadh program. This event coincided with the Kingdom's hosting of the 13th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Permanent Committee for Statistical Work at GASTAT's headquarters in Riyadh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the session covered three key themes: harmonizing the application of international standards among GCC statistical agencies; enhancing and expanding partnerships with regional and international organizations; and strengthening GCC agencies' contributions to the development of global statistical standards.
This session is part of the Road to Riyadh series organized by GASTAT in preparation for Saudi Arabia hosting the Sixth United Nations World Data Forum, scheduled to take place in Riyadh in November 2026.
