Riyadh: President of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) Fahad Aldossari received a delegation from the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS), headed by Lucinda Eggleton and Alison Bailey, as part of the British side's annual visit program, according to a press release issued by GASTAT today.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in the field of statistics. Aldossari presented GASTAT's initiatives in digital transformation and the development of statistical methodologies, aligning with international best practices. He also detailed the authority's statistical products and innovative methods for data collection and analysis, emphasizing the integration of data sources to support decision-makers effectively.
The visit included a tour of the Innovation Lab and the Statistical Surveys Operations Center, where the delegation learned about the latest technical initiatives, indicator monitoring mechanisms, and the comprehensive management of statistical operations. Technical sessions were conducted to discuss the joint work plan for 2026 and to identify priority areas for cooperation.
This visit is part of the efforts to implement the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two sides. It underscores the strategic partnership's depth, aiming to enhance statistical capacities, exchange expertise, develop statistical work, and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
