At least nine people were killed and several others were taken ill following a gas leakage in Ludhiana district of northern Indian state of Punjab, said Indian police on Sunday.
The Press Trust of India said quoting Ludhiana Police Commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu that nine people have been killed following the gas leak in Giaspura area of Ludhiana. The Source and type of the leakage are still being ascertained, they added. Firemen and rescue team including a team of the National Disaster Response Force are in the spot and the area
