GACA Releases August Complaint Performance Ranking for Airlines and Airports

Riyadh:The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has published its monthly complaint performance ranking for national airlines and airports, detailing the number of passenger complaints filed in August 2026.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the total number of passenger complaints against national airlines was 2,402. Saudia achieved the lowest complaint rate among the airlines, with 22 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a 100% on-time resolution rate. Riyadh Air came in second, recording 52 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a 97% resolution rate. Flynas ranked third with 57 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a 100% resolution rate, while flyadeal was fourth with 108 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a 97% resolution rate. Flight-related issues were the most common cause of complaints in August, followed by baggage services and ticketing.

Among international airports with over six million passengers annually, King Khalid International Airport had the lowest complaint rate, with 11 complaints, or 0.3% per 100,000 passengers, and a 100% resolution rate. Taif International Airport led among international airports handling fewer than six million passengers annually, with a single complaint equating to one complaint per 100,000 passengers, and a 100% resolution rate. For domestic airports, Wadi Al-Dawasir Airport had the lowest complaint rate, with one complaint, equivalent to seven per 100,000 passengers, and a 100% resolution rate.

GACA stated that the monthly report aims to enhance transparency and promote fair competition to improve services. The authority has established various communication channels for passenger engagement, including a unified call center, WhatsApp, social media accounts, and its website, to handle complaints related to airlines, airports, and services under its jurisdiction.
