Riyadh, The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) observed World Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) Day yesterday, commemorating the seventy-first anniversary of the adoption of the International Standards and Recommended Practices for AIS. These standards were established on May 19, 1953, as Annex 15 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago, 1944). GACA emphasized the pivotal role of AIS in the aviation system, ensuring the smooth and consistent flow of aviation information for operational safety and air navigation. GACA has esta blished a permanent committee comprising government entities to review and update the data and information in the Saudi AIP. The Saudi AIP serves as the primary source of information, procedures, governmental instructions, and services for the civil aviation community. GACA aims to enhance the aviation industry in accordance with international standards and advancements. This entails issuing and renewing licenses, certifications, and accreditations in compliance with regulations and conducting regular safety inspections.
