Paris: The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and Airbus signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on environmental sustainability during the 2025 Paris Air Show.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this strategic step aims to balance economic growth with environmental preservation by leveraging innovative technologies to reduce the aviation sector's environmental impact. The agreement aligns with the objectives of the Civil Aviation Environmental Sustainability Program (CAESP).
The MoU outlines key areas of collaboration, including the exchange of expertise in low-carbon and sustainable aviation fuels and initiatives to develop specialized human capacity in the field.
GACA Executive Vice President for Aviation Safety and Environmental Sustainability, Captain Sulaiman Almuhaimedi, highlighted the significance of the MoU, marking a milestone in the Kingdom's commitment to a sustainable aviation sector. He stated that the memorandum addresses sustainability challenges, promotes knowledge transfer, and empowers the next generation of Saudi talent.
Airbus President in Africa and the Middle East, Gabriel Semelas, noted that the partnership is a vital step toward building a sustainable future for the aviation sector, aiming to accelerate efforts to reduce carbon emissions regionally and globally.
