From ICAO Council to Vision 2030: Saudi Arabia Stands as Major Player in Global Civil Aviation

Riyadh: Since joining the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 1986, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has played a key role in shaping international aviation policies and regulations, reflecting the global community's trust in the Kingdom's standing and leadership.

According to Saudi Press Agency, through initiatives, partnerships, and agreements, the Kingdom has worked to strengthen the global air transport industry and expand travel markets with countries worldwide. Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, the Kingdom seeks to advance its civil aviation sector and contribute to the enhancement of global trade. Today, Saudi Arabia is an influential force in global civil aviation, supported by competitive infrastructure and advanced technologies. The Kingdom also ranks among the world's top countries in aviation safety and security standards, reflecting the leadership's vision in building a strong and competitive aviation sector.

Saudi Arabia's participation in the 42nd Session of the ICAO Assembly, held from September 23 to October 3 in Montreal, reinforces its close cooperation with the organization. Riyadh will host the fourth edition of the Future Aviation Forum from April 20 to 22, 2026, under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. This major global gathering highlights Saudi Arabia's efforts in driving sustainable growth, innovation, and development in the global aviation industry.
