Jeddah: on the Red Sea coast, will host the 9-Ball World Championship from July 21 to 26, with 100 top-ranked players competing for a prize pool nearing $1 million. The event is organized by the Saudi Billiard and Snooker Federation.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this hosting aligns with Saudi Arabia's strategy to bolster its international presence in niche sports, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals to diversify sports activities and promote seasonal tourism.
The Kingdom's hosting of the championship for the second consecutive year reflects the advanced organizational readiness of its sports event infrastructure while reinforcing Jeddah's position as a summer hub that blends sports competition and coastal tourism. Jeddah Season is currently witnessing a significant influx of both local and international visitors, making the championship a simultaneous sporting, cultural, and tourist event.
The participation of top international players such as Fedor Gorst, Jayson Shaw, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, Johann Chua, along with Saudi star Khalid Al-Ghamdi, offers local audiences a chance to witness elite-level competition in one of the most historic individual sports. This aligns with Saudi aspirations of leveraging global events to support the sports, tourism, and economic sectors.
