Foreign Ministry lights up its headquarters to celebrate Mediterranean Day

Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs illuminated its headquarters at night with the word “MED DAY” in celebration of the Mediterranean Day which is observed annually on November 28, said the Ministry in a statement on Sunday.

“Egypt occupies a unique position in the Mediterranean region with its distinguished location and history of cultural and civilizational communication between the peoples of the region on its territory, with the city of Alexandria and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina having been witnesses to it throughout the ages. “The Foreign Ministry takes this opportunity to stress the importance of Mediterranean regional cooperation to face common challenges in the region, foremost of which are: climate change, energy and food security, combating irregular migration, combating extremism, and promoting economic and social development,” the statement added.
