Riyadh: The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, Trkiye, and the United Arab Emirates have condemned Israel's enactment of a law allowing the death penalty for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministers criticized the Israeli practices that reinforce apartheid and deny Palestinian rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT). They emphasized that the legislation represents a significant escalation, especially due to its discriminatory nature against Palestinian prisoners, and cautioned that it could increase tensions and destabilize the region.

The ministers voiced concern about the conditions of Palestinian detainees in Israeli facilities, citing reports of abuses such as torture, inhumane treatment, and the denial of basic rights. They indicated that these actions are part of a broader pattern of violations against Palestinians.

The ministers reiterated their opposition to Israel's discriminatory policies against Palestinians. They also highlighted the need to avoid actions by the occupying force that could further heighten tensions. They called for international efforts to ensure accountability and maintain regional stability.
